Emily Roach was born January 16th, 1997.
Emily is a junior at Herricks High School, and she is also beginning her third
year in her school's fine arts program for gifted and talented students, STAC.
From a young age, Emily has always had quite the flare for the dramatic. When the first opportunity for her to be in a show came around, which was in her fifth grade school production, it seemed only natural for her to audition. Ever since, Emily has been in numerous shows, including starring roles in productions of Snow White and Peter Pan. However, when Emily entered high school as a freshman, her passion for all things theatre went on hiatus. It wasn't until the closing of her freshman year of high school did Emily rediscover her affinity for acting after being cast in a short stage play written by a colleague of hers. Her love of performance only continues to grow as she studies acting with Luke DeLalio.
Emily happens to be a well-versed musician as well. When she isn't acting, Ms. Roach can be found practicing her bassoon. Emily has been the principal bassoonist in the Children's Orchestral Society's Young Symphonic Ensemble for the past three years. She has studied under the batons of Scott Stickley, Michael Dadap, and Kenneth Andrews. She has studied bassoon under the direction of Carol Lowe, and currently studies with Donald Olsen.
When she has time between either of these activities, Emily also enjoys dabbling in playwriting as well as reading plays. Her favorites include works by Tennessee Williams, Clifford Odets, and Lillian Hellman.
